Summer Heat & a project?

About 10am this morning, a work crew rang the bell and dropped off a note. They are repainting and caulking our back area. First they clean everything with a high pressure hose, then caulk. This means that the back bedroom window and the deck door have to be closed. We don’t have air conditioning—don’t really need it. However, the open deck door and the upstairs bedroom are needed to keep the air flowing well though the house. I also had to take everything off the patio…the planters, the tables, chairs, the wind chimes…everything. They say the work will take about a week. Great. I can still open everything back up in the evening. I got out the upstairs fan, so I should survive. Doing all this work during monsoon season doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, nor does it make sense to do it during the hottest days of the year, but then, I’m not one who decides.

We were 82° outside today, with a few clouds and no rain. Inside, during the closed window time, before the fans came out it got up to 85°. I’m not good in heat, so I’m not looking forward to all this work.

I was surprised today that the Jackson Memorial Service will finally happen tomorrow. Over the weekend, with Palin’s resignation, the mess in SC politics and other news, Al Sharpton made a speech at an LA church. He tore into the media for having too much negative talk about MJ’s life. I guess to appease this guy, all the major networks and all the 24/7 news channels will be carrying the memorial service live. Michael is gone and yet it seems everyone now wants a piece of the pie. So sad.
