Rambling Thoughts
Had a very windy Father’s Day here in our little mountain town. Still
a lazy Sunday here at my place. Wrist continues to heal, but much slower than I
had hoped. It’s only been 4 days but seems a whole lot longer. I’m left handed
and it is my right wrist…and can’t believe how much one does with the
non-dominant wrist.

Pen names: Anne Rampling, A. N. Roquelaure
Anne Rice, perhaps best known for her series The Vampire Chronicles, is yet another popular writer whose
released work under pen names. Her 1985 Exit
to Eden and 1986 Belinda were
published under the Rampling pen name. Both are erotic novels, the former
exploring the subject of BDSM. In the 80s, Rice also published the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy under the
Roquelaure byline. The series included The
Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, Beauty’s Punishment, and Beauty’s Release. These were also erotic BDSM novels that
explicitly outlined pornographic tales and fantasies — which could explain why
Rice opted for the pseudonym. In an interview with the Telegraph, Rice
dismissed those books as “an obsession of youth – or something.” But as the Guardian points out, those novels

QUANZHOU, China (UPI) - Excuses, excuses, excuses... A Chinese man
who got his penis stuck in an air-conditioning pipe waited two days before
seeking medical attention because he was embarrassed. Lian Tien told doctors
that he slipped and got himself stuck in the pipe while painting in the nude in
Quanzhou. The 61-year-old "did not think people would believe him"
and only went to the hospital after he experienced swelling and developed a
fever. "I thought that no-one would believe me and I tried everything I
could think of to get the damned thing off once it got stuck," Tien said,
according to India Today. "I cut it from the wall and tried pouring oil
and liquid soap down the sides but my manhood was so tightly wedged that
nothing dripped down. I went to sleep thinking that if I relaxed it would slide
off. But it didn't. It began to get red and inflamed. I was worried that I
would get a terrible infection." Doctors were unable to treat Tien so they
called in the fire brigade. It took firefighters four hours remove the pipe
from around Tien's genitals.

its name during the 1849 gold rush by emigrants looking to cross it, Death
Valley is located in the northern Mojave Desert of southern California. Famous
for its brutal heat, on July 10, 1913, it became the location of the hottest
temperature ever recorded in the United States (and the second hottest ever
recorded in the world) with a scalding temperature of 134°F (56.6°C). The
valley usually receives less than 2 inches (5 cm) of rain each year.
Ironically, during the late Pleistocene period, Death Valley was submerged
beneath a prehistoric lake!
Texas
boasts the Guadalupe, Trinity, Rio Grande, Brazos, and Colorado rivers. It
contains many other rivers as well, including the Pecos, Red, Sabine, and San
Antonio rivers. Most of these rivers eventually flow into the Gulf of Mexico.
