Rambling Thoughts
Really nice day here in Flag. Went over to the mall for my walk.
Picked up some items that were on ‘back-to-school’ sale. Not planning on going
back to school, but can’t pass up some good bargains. I had bought a flash
drive before one of my trips and now that I needed it today, couldn’t find it
anywhere. I thought it was a good idea to buy a micro-tiny flash drive that was
about the size of my small fingernail. Wrong. I put is somewhere after using it
a few months ago and it is totally lost. I use my computer every day, but
seldom print anything. Ink is expensive, and since my retirement, cartridges
would dry out with about 80% of the ink still inside. So I decided that it is
cheaper to just put anything I want to print can be put on a flash and taken to
Office Max to have them print it. I found a larger 8GB flash for about $9 so
now I’m set again.
Got a text from my friend yesterday. We chatted a while and sadly
she still thinks that I haven’t told her the truth. I think we agreed to work
on it some more. Sure hope so. To complicate this, a couple of weeks ago, I
thought we had decided to have lunch, but never made any specific plans. She
says that IM conversation never happened. So this will take some time to
repair. Feeling bad.

JAROSLAW, Poland, -- A Polish priest claims that "an evil
spirit" has taken over the body of a teenager, and that the demon within
the girl is sending him nasty text messages. Father Marian Rajchel performed an
exorcism on the girl; he claims the texts started coming shortly thereafter.
The exorcism obviously didn't take. "The author of these texts is an evil
spirit who has possessed her soul," Rajchel told local media members.
"Clearly this young girl has been possessed, and needs further help."
Father Rajchel says that it's not uncommon for demons to possess people and use
their wireless technology. "She will not come out of this hell. She's
mine. Anyone who prays for her will die," read one message from the girl.
"Shut up, preacher. You cannot save yourself. Idiot. You pathetic old
preacher," said another.

The poppy became a symbol of remembrance for the victims of war. This is due to the war poem 'In Flanders Fields', written in 1915 by John McCrae, a Canadian military physician, (the title of which is mentioned in the first line of the teaser).
Poppy seeds can lay dormant, deep in the soil for hundreds of years, but the violent shelling, on the Western Front during the First World War, would have unearthed them. This led to the blood and bodies being watched over by tall red flowers, dancing in the wind.
The artificial poppies sold today, to raise money for war veterans, were the idea of Madame Guerin, a Frenchwoman, mentioned in the title. Other colours of poppy are now sold as well as the original red, normally as a statement of peaceful resolution to conflict. However, it is predominantly Madame Guerin's poppy seen across much of the World and in military cemeteries.
