My Rambling Thoughts
Another cloudless sky with cool fall temps.

I turned of my office TV last night about 10p. When I went in at 6a, it was mysteriously back on. I left it on while I checked my computer. When I was ready to start the day I tried to turn off the damn thing. The remote didn’t work. And there is only one button on the TV, with no marking as to what it is for. I went downstairs, got new batteries, put them in the remote. Still nothing. I left the TV on. While out and about, I bought a cheap universal remote. That one didn’t do anything either, after putting in about 2 dozen codes. Got on the internet machine and found customer service. Called. A very nice guy. He had me push that one button, nothing. So, he had me unplug the TV, push that one button for about 20 seconds, plug the TV back in, and push the button. TV comes on. Tried the remote, TV turned on. I was concerned that I was going to have a skinny black thing sitting on my desk. Luckily, it all worked.  Yeah! Vizio for the great customer service.

Can’t believe the horrific fires in CA that seem to have come out of basically nowhere. Homes lost, lives lost, and the wine industry destroyed. What a mess.

Now that Bannon has announced that he is working hard to oust Republican Senators and Reps that do not toe the line on conservative issues, the Republican party is in deep trouble. That also means our two-party system is in deep trouble.

Too add to those problems, Maddow, on MSN, showed some of the FB posts that were made by Russian money. They were very negative and had lots of English grammar mistakes, but millions of Americans read them, and shared them. I must say, this is very concerning.

I am used to seeing grammatical errors in posts. I ignore them if they are ‘sponsored’ posts or posts that are ‘shared’ by someone I know. Not claiming to be part of the grammar police, at times I will send a private message to someone if it is really bad.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
