My
Rambling Thoughts
Ahh, no controlled burn today. Blue sky, more blue sky, and more
blue sky.
This weekend is NAU’s homecoming. Lots of visitors around town.
Lots of alumni too. Lots of traditions abound around the town.
I got a great map a few years ago. It is a world map where a
traveler can scratch off the countries that have been visited. With all my
rearranging, I finally had a place, in the staircase, to put it, thanks to
those Command picture holders. Pretty cool. While I certainly have done a great
deal of travel in my lifetime, much of the world is left to still uncover. In
time, I guess, in time. I am only uncovering countries where I have spent more
than two days…touchdowns and plane changes don’t count on my map as I didn’t
meet any of the people.
So sad to hear there was another school shooting. I must say, it
is a sad commentary, from my point of view, that they are identifying the
shooter as ‘Native American’. Our country’s citizens will never learn about the
various tribes unless the tribes are identified, even in a sad situation like this.

If you love something, set it free. If it doesn't return, try to
climb down its chimney and MAKE it love you!
That might have been what one woman was thinking when she was discovered stuck
in the chimney of a Southern California house and had to be rescued.
Ventura County fire Capt. Ron Oatman says firefighters responding to neighbors'
reports of a woman crying had to chisel away much of the chimney and lubricate
it with dish soap Sunday to free 30-year-old Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa.
She was arrested on suspicion of illegal entry and giving false information to
police.
Police say Nunez-Figueroa knows the owner of the home, who wasn't there at the
time. They wouldn't elaborate, but according to video the homeowner identified
the woman as someone he met online and had dated. He told local news that he
cut off their relationship.
She had no clear injuries but was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
"I hope she gets help, I hope she stays offline," he said.
