Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
A very nice
spring day. Doors and windows open
letting in the spring.
Texas is
certainly in the spotlight. After such a horrific incident, some are very good
at Monday morning quarterbacking. Even the head of the Texas Rangers on scene
said ‘Of course, it was the wrong decision.’ This is very small town, about 16,000
citizens. The people of that town deserve answers. It is sad that it has taken
this long to get important information out to the public. I certainly hope they
get those answers.
Keeping up
with facts is a difficult endeavor. According to CNBC, in 2020, Pro-gun
lobbyists spent $19.5 million…including money from the NRA. Gun control
lobbyists spent $37.4 million.
Our
discussion group meets on Saturday to discuss ‘Drug Wars’. Should be an
interesting discussion. I have lots of reading to do before our evening meeting.

v Massive swarms of over 1,000 basking
sharks spotted off the northeastern U.S. are puzzling scientists.
v National Geographic reports that the
shark swarms were noticed during aerial surveys to locate endangered North
Atlantic Right Whales. Typically they are solitary creatures, the throngs of
basking sharks have surprised experts.
v Although fearsome looking, the basking
sharks, which can grow up to 32 feet long, are not a threat to humans. Other
varieties of sharks are another story.
v For every human killed by a shark, humans
kill a million sharks.
