My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A nice summer day. Rain expected this afternoon.

I headed out to check out new vehicles this morning. Neither Nissan nor Subaru had what I was looking for. Nissan let me test drive a Rogue. They expect some in the last week or August. A $1000 needed to hold the vehicle. I could get the money back if I don’t like the one that comes in. Subaru only wants $500 to hold a Forester that will come in a little sooner, but they don’t have any to even test drive. I’m still thinking as I don’t like buying a vehicle without seeing it. I guess if it is meant to be, it will happen.

Back in the day when I was in high school and working at a grocery store, we placed our orders every Monday and they were delivered on Wednesday by Associated Grocers. I wrongly assumed that business was still done that way. Many still do, but Walmart and Sam’s don’t. They have no warehouses. They really have no backroom or warehouse inventory. When an item is low, they order from the manufacturing site. With all the supply chain disruptions due to Covid,  this model is hurting more than the warehouse model.
