My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

October is ending with a nice day.

Our discussion group went well. This is the last meeting of the year. We are all looking forward to January to start up again. Myanmar is having horrific problems. Our group believed that Myanmar sanctions were not working and that best way to help them was to let them sort it out. They are in desperate need of a leader from within the country that will lead them into living in peace without having to kill the opposition along the way. A Nelson Mandela type leader is needed. We all recognize this will not be easy, but colonization and invasions have not worked. Their own military has only made things worse. It must come from within.

South Korea lost 159 lives and has 133 injured at a Halloween celebration.  Everyone is awaiting more detail on this horrific story.

On the home front, Musk has fired most of his executive team. It is reported he fired them in hopes of not having to pay out $125+ in severance pay. Many are saying this will not hold up in court and that they will get their severance…someday. What a cheap bastard.

The Broncos beat the Jaguars in an early morning game in the UK. Hey, a win is a win…even if far away. The Cards lost another one...this time to the Vikings.

Best Instrumentals

“Frankenstein" by The Edgar Winter Group (1973)

This has to be up there with the great rock instrumentals of all time. A radio hit that went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 has long been a classic rock staple. While Winter's work on the ARP 2600 synthesizer and saxophone has become legendary, Ronnie Montrose's guitar and the bass effort from Dan Hartman add to the excellence of this superb cut.

Humor…

“It’s not that I’m afraid to die, I just don’t want to be there when it happens.” Woody Allen
