My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Look like more monsoon rain today…happy camper.

School starts today in Flagstaff. Last night about 6p the local board issued a mask mandate until at least Sept. 29, when the board will review local conditions. This is in defiance of our Governor’s order. Oh well, all I can say is TGIR.

Our mayor announced more Olympic news: 103 of the athletes who competed in Tokyo had trained in Flagstaff prior to the Olympics. They participated in 139 medal events. They brought home 33 Olympic medals. That is as many medals as France won. Proud local. I’m pretty sure that Colorado Springs has even better numbers., but Flagstaff does not have an Olympic training center like the Springs.

It is discouraging that another political figure had to resign for accusations of misconduct. It seems that in 2021 this should not be happening. Why are politicians allowed so many passes until the numbers are so high? On another note: it seems that Chris Cuomo, the Governor’s brother, is also in hot water for helping his brother with statements while also doing his CNN program. I hope Chris Cuomo makes it through this; I enjoy his nightly commentary.

So a big part of the infrastructure bill is moving along. It is long, it is complicated, and I hope that it provides all Americans with a better standard of living.
