Wrong Place, Wrong Time
A Volvo manufacturing
plant in western Virginia got a surprise visitor on June 4: A young bear had
somehow climbed up into the rafters of the building, 20 feet high and far from
stairs or a ladder then become stuck. The state's Department of Wildlife
Resources was called in, Fox News reported, and workers immobilized the bear
with a chemical dart, then removed it from the ceiling using a forklift.
"Given the location of the bear, odds were low that it would soon safely
leave on its own," said DWR officials. Workers were directed to stay in
the business's cafeteria during the extraction. The bear was safely taken to a
"suitable site for release." [Fox News, 6/10/2021]

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts
Cloudy and hoping for more rain. Our forest needs all it can get.
The rain has allowed the Forest Service to reopen Coconino Forest with restrictions.
That is good news.
I saw an interview with Jimmy and Roslyn Carter. It was their first
in quite a while. They were talking about their 75 year marriage. That alone is
amazing. Jimmy said they get their news from their preferred source: PBS NewsHour…and
are not fans of Fox, CNN, or MSNBC. I enjoy NewsHour but would add CNBC’s Shepard
Smith.
Tonight is the first game between the Suns and Hawks for the NBA National
Championship. I’ll be watching.
Mark your calendars: The My Pillow Guy says that Trump will be
reinstated as President on August 13, 2021. For the superstitious…that is on a
Friday. He didn’t give a date for the end of the world…yet.
