You get a dollhouse! And you get a dollhouse!
We’ve all heard of humorous incidents where kids have used their
friendly Amazon Echo or Google Home to order up whatever their heart desired.
Another such run-of-the-mill incident occurred in Dallas, when a six-year-old ordered
a dollhouse (and four pounds of cookies, for a snack!). What was not
run-of-the-mill was what happened a few days later when the local news reported
the whimsical moment. When the news anchor stated, “I love the little girl
saying, ‘Alexa ordered me a dollhouse,'” many viewers (and Echo owners) found
that their own Echo devices had set about ordering dollhouses for them.

After many months of
postponement, voting in the 74th Annual Tony Awards is underway, and the
statues are scheduled to be presented with the reopening of Broadway this
spring. In an unusual twist, reported The New York Times, actor Aaron Tveit,
star of "Moulin Rouge!" is competing for recognition as leading actor
in a musical against ... only himself. And even though there are no other
nominees, Tveit could still wind up losing, as the rules require 60% of the

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Many across the country are
suffering from this heat wave. I realize Flag is not the only one suffering. We,
like many others have broken long standing records for high temps and high
low temps. Somebody, somewhere needs to turn on that big fan in the sky and
cool all of us off a little. This past winter TX lost
electricity due to the cold…now they are losing power due to the heat. They
just can’t win. About 1300 people in
Flag lost power for about six hours yesterday. The initial cause in ‘probably
heat-related ’ at a transformer. 21 GOP House members voted
against honoring the January 6 capitol heroes. Something about the exact wording
of the resolution. So Sad. I watched both Putin and then
Biden Press Conferences. An interesting cultural point: At least a half-dozen
times Putin said he had to stop as Biden was waiting, yet each time he took
more questions. It reminded me of a Chapter Meeting on the Rez. Of course,
past of it was Putin showing his power over Biden by delaying Biden’s press
briefing for almost an hour. |
