Bagpipes may be one of the most recognizable symbols of Scotland, commonly played by kilt-clad musicians sounding songs about Loch Lomond. But the origin of the instrument has been traced all the way back to ancient Egypt where, in 400 B.C., the so-called pipers of Thebes used similar instruments made from bone and animal skin. The bagpipes may have then made their way over to Scotland in the hands of Roman invaders.

My Rambling Thoughts

Cold last night, wind is keeping it cold and cloudy today. Good I don’t have any good reason to be out and about.

Trump continues to build his wall. Near Tucson the O’odham tribe is upset. The Federal government is tearing down very old Saguaro cacti on hill that has been used by them for religious ceremonial purposes. The hill is also a burial ground for Apache who were killed during raids. The government is trying to save the largest cacti by replanting them elsewhere. No word yet on the burial site debacle. There are numerous laws protecting ancient sites and many are in jail and have paid huge fines for desecrating sites. Hmmm

There are also laws on the Federal books that control the selling of Native American art. Any ‘Indian’-style jewelry or art must be marked that it is not made by a Native American. The far eastern countries are infamous for selling this type of fake jewelry without marking it. Recently in Albuquerque, NM, the Feds arrested several who distributed fakes. Between 2010 and 2015 the trade value of the jewelry reached $12million USD. What a disgrace.

Hoping the NH Primary has results that make sense.
