Free Rambling Thoughts:   

What a surprise, that the announcement came so early. All the media kept saying it would be late or maybe even days, that there was a good chance that there would be an electoral college tie, and on and on. I hope they learned something about their polls, their predictions, and all their hot air. So now we move into a UNITED states era of the people, by the people, for the people. Right? Of course, then there is good ol’ AZ. Our largest population county is Maricopa—home of Sheriff Joe. Somehow their recorder is claiming that there are 400,000 ballots that haven’t been counted yet. Some are early ballots, some are provisional ballots. Right now there are two separate candle light vigils going on at her office. Seems that there was a very large push to register Latinos before the election, and many of them are claiming that those they registered were either turned away or given provisional ballots that haven’t been counted. Two congressional races and the Sheriff’s race are still up in the air…until at least Friday…if not longer. I realize other states are still counting too but it seems AZ just can’t get its act together. When I went to bed last night, the Republican for our Congressional District was ahead, this morning it was the Democrat. By 3pm it was finally projected that the Dem won. Sadly AZ defeated an education tax—guess we don’t need no more book leanin’ but thankfully also defeated the move to have the state to claim sovereignty of  all Federal land (except the Rezes) including the Grand Canyon and all the National forests.

• Be basketball player for Halloween and need fake tattoos to complete the costume.  She didn't want to draw on her arm so she drew her designs on a pair of nude pantyhose and wore it on her arm.
• Give your photos an eerie gauzy effect by covering the lens with your pantyhose.
• Pantyhose are made of a soft delicate material that makes them great for polishing most surfaces.
• To find small lost objects is by placing pantyhose over the head of the vacuum hose, securing it with a rubber band (so the pantyhose don't get sucked up!), and vacuuming under tables and chairs.  The objects are quickly picked up with out getting sucked away into the vacuum!
• Clean cooked on food and oil spills off your cookware.  Just add dish soap and a bit of man power.
• Tidy up your shelves and craft stations.  You can use pantyhose to neatly store magazines and rolls of paper.  The long thin shape of pantyhose is perfect for storing cylindrical objects.  Just roll the magazines up and put in the pantyhose and they won't unravel.

SALT LAKE CITY - A Utah man says he saw Bigfoot while camping in Provo Canyon. The man, whose real name has not been reported, posted a video to YouTube of what he says he believes may be Bigfoot, KSTU-TV, Salt Lake City, reported Saturday. The man said he and a friend were hiking near Squaw Peak and Little Rock Canyon Overlook when they spotted what they believed to be a bear. But when "the monster stood up and looked right at us," they fled. "We had actually been standing there for awhile. We had thought it was a bear up to that point but when it stood up and looked at us it was just massive animal," said the video's uploader. "We don't know what it was. I mean none of us really believe in Bigfoot but we've talked about it over and over again since then. It happened on Monday and all of us are positive that thing wasn't a bear," the uploader said.

Somewhat Useless Information   

• The year 1988 had the longest Roman numeral sequence of any year since such numbers were used: MCMLXXXVIII. Twelve years later came the shortest one in recent history: MM for the year 2000.

• A Roman numeral added to a name to indicate its order in succession, as in England's kings George I, George II, and George III, is known as an ordinal.

• A line above a Roman numeral indicates that the amount represented should be multiplied by 1,000.

• The famous Mark VII Limited productions logo was made by a man's hands hammering a metal stamp with the number "VII." The hands holding the hammer and stamp are those of the production company's founder, Dragnet star Jack Webb.

• Some retailers ran into problems stocking clothing to promote the 2006 Super Bowl. The Roman numerals attached to the proper name of the event - Super Bowl XL - created confusion for those who mistook the letters as an abbreviation for "extra large." 

• Many clocks depicting Roman numerals show the number four as "IIII" instead of "IV." Historians are divided on how this tradition developed, blaming it on everything from the desires of King Louis XIV (who was convinced that "IV" was incorrect) to better symmetry on the clock's face.
