Random Tidbit
George
Washington was our first President. We all just naturally assume that George
was number one. Except maybe not. Maybe he was ONE of the firsts. During the
American Revolution, several presidents were elected by the Continental
Congress, the first being Peyton Randolph, who created the Continental Army.
Thomas Mifflin, who was president between 1783 and 1784, oversaw the
ratification of the Treaty of Paris. John Hancock, who became more famous for
signing the Declaration of Independence, was the president between 1785 and
1786. George Washington was our first president to be elected by the people,
but technically speaking, he was our 15th president.

My Rambling Thoughts

Thanksgiving to all.
Got my
teeth cleaning this morning…only to discover I need to replace 2 crowns. Not a
real happy camper, but we all do what we have to do. I’ve been going to this dental
office for years. I am on my fourth dentist. He is good and I like him, but his
front office staff needs lots of training. While I have great medical, I have
crappy dental so I always pay what I owe from their chart for BC/BS. They never
have any up-to-date billing information. When the clerk pulled up my account so
I could pay, she just stared at the screen. Then she said, I know this is a
mistake, but it shows you have a back bill of $859 + today’s cleaning. Just pay
for the cleaning and I’ll figure it out later. This happens every time I see
the dentist. When the dentist starts working on the crown, I’m going to have a
heart-to-heart about his billing practices.
The
weather guy keeps changing the arrival time of our expected snowstorm. Now it
won’t be here until Thanksgiving afternoon, but still may drop up to 2 feet of
snow on Thursday and Friday. I don’t like the holding pattern, but the weather
does what the weather does. It is chilly and windy today. I’m ready for whatever
happens.
I’m
taking a break tomorrow and possibly Friday, depending on what I do Friday. The
snow will determine if I’m home and able to write the blog, or if I head out
for a while to pick up my poinsettia.
