MY FREE RAMBLING THOUGHTS
My Sunday paper never made it to my house. When I got up, there was about 18” of snow outside so I got that the paper might be late. I called the paper about 9:30 and listened to a recording that due to weather conditions, the papers were not fully delivered until 8am. I talked to the receptionist and she said she would take care of it. About 11:30 she called to see if I got the paper. Nope. She then said she would call the carrier. It was snowing, but the roads were in good condition. No paper by 2pm so I called again. The normal recording came on, telling me it might be recorded, then the recording that all agents—they have one—was assisting other customers then a new sound. After about a minute the machine says no recording made, for assistance press *H. I hit *5—where the letter H is—and was told invalid entry. I called back about 3:30 and when the new noise came on I left a message. No one ever called me back and no paper ever arrived. Very poor customer service for sure.
The news organizations are really scrambling to keep up with Africa. Tonight it is Libya that is protesting and there are no American journalists there and their leader, Muammar al-Gaddafi is not letting any journalists in. News leaking out is not good.

It wasn't until the mid-'90s that networks began airing prestige programming and awarding the timeslot to one of their signature shows. NBC was the first network to do so, when it aired Friends’ “The One After the Super Bowl” in 1995—and 53 million people watched. That number still hasn’t been topped.
2001's second-season premiere of Survivor is in second place, ratings-wise, at 45 million viewers. Last year's pilot of Undercover Boss—the only not-yet-established show to air since 1995—is in third, with nearly 39 million viewers.
FOX has twice used the spot to build up what is now its two-hour "Animation Domination" block, by leading out with The Simpsons and then debuting a new animated show—in 1999, with Family Guy, and in 2005, with American Dad!.

UNUSUAL NEWS ITEM… JACKSON, WY
— A 78-year-old retired doctor was handcuffed and hauled away on a toboggan for skiing uphill in Wyoming, but he won't face charges.
Roland Fleck of Jackson was arrested the morning of Feb. 5 after refusing ski patrollers' orders to stop. Jackson Hole Resort officials say avalanche danger and the presence of grooming machines made it unsafe.
Skiers can get uphill with snow-gripping "skins" on their skis, among other methods.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide says Fleck was jailed on charges of trespass, interference, unsafe skiing and theft of services.
Resort officials say they won't press charges because Fleck's removal resolved their complaint. Sheriff Jim Whalen says he sees no need for prosecution.
Fleck's son, attorney Dan Fleck, says his father did nothing wrong and the resort should change policies.
