My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

I enjoyed the monsoon showers last night. Minor flooding in the areas below the most recent burn scars.

I caught up this morning with my weekly news programs. There is still hope for us.

I get free speech. I get that even idiots have freedom of speech. What is hard for me to understand is how many people allow the idiots to spout their stupidity. One such person is Marjorie Taylor Greene. She recently said that adoptive parents were ‘fake moms and fake dads’. She was talking about abortion when she said that the mom should keep the child and not give it away to be raised by ‘fake moms and fake dads.’ She is getting called out by many adoptive parents and adoptees. How can such ignorance still exist today?

Nothing in the Uvalde report issued today will bring back the children and teachers killed. It will help to make sure those who didn’t act will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. It will also alert all those who are hired to ‘support and protect’ will pay a price for not fulfilling their assignment.

Trivia

Many owl species have asymmetrical ears. When located at different heights on the owl's head, their ears are able to pinpoint the location of sounds in multiple dimensions.

The eyes of an owl are not true "eyeballs." Their tube-shaped eyes are completely immobile, providing binocular vision which fully focuses on their prey and boosts depth perception.

A group of owls is called a parliament. This originates from C.S. Lewis' description of a meeting of owls in The Chronicles of Narnia.
