 Today’s Birthdays:
How many can you identify?…answers in Today’s Birthdays

My Free Rambling Thoughts
I have saying how much we have been enjoying the rain. Today we got 2.25” in less than an hour. Not nice. Our main road through town was flooded in several places with lots of dirt and roots left in the highway after the rain finished. When we went to lunch downtown, it was dark but no rain. During our lunch it must have hit. A real mess throughout Flagstaff. Mary had some great pics of her kids and grandkids as they all made it to the Oregon beach house. They went sailing in a tall ship from the Columbia out to the ocean, another day salmon fishing with a nice big catch, and lots of time on the beach. Great vacation. Cheryl is getting ready for the arrival of one of her sisters next month. Good time had by all today.

Unusual Fact of the Day
The "black box" on an airplane is actually bright orange so that it can be easily found among the wreckage if the plane were to crash.
Joke-of-the-day
Two old men were sitting in the yard outside the care home one day when Tim turned to the other and said "John I'm really feeling my age today I just hurt all over, how are you feeling?
John replied "I feel just like a new born babe"
Tim looked at him startled "A New Born babe really?"
"Yep, I have no hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants."

WASILLA, Alaska - A man standing on a highway and wearing a Superman costume in Wasilla, Alaska, was arrested after he was found in possession of heroin, police said. A costumed Patrick Campbell, 23, of Wasilla was "waving at traffic" while standing in the middle of the Parks Highway Sunday night, a statement from the Alaska State Troopers said. Campbell was found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of heroin, and was arrested, the Anchorage Daily News reported Monday.
Somewhat Useless Information
One of the more common and dangerous pollutants in the environment is cadmium, which kills human fetal sex organ cells. Its widespread presence means it is in almost everything we eat and drink.
Pollution in China alters the weather in the United States. It takes just five days for the jet stream to carry heavy air pollution from China to the U.S. Once in the atmosphere over the U.S., the pollution stops clouds from producing rain and snow--i.e., more pollution equals less precipitation.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
