Ø  Free Rambling Thoughts…
Garrison Keillor and crew at Prairie Home Companion did their show this week live from Flagstaff AZ. Very cool. Catch it if you can.

I live in AZ and had not heard this story until I caught an article in the NY Times. I’ve been concerned about the fires in Southern AZ which seem to be growing in frequency and severity. The Forest Service and the Border Patrol have TOTALLY discounted the rumors but they don’t seem to go away. The rumor: illegals are starting the fires, either for warmth or to get away from or distract the border patrol. The rumor continues to discuss the various problems with the fires on both sides of the border. I checked the main stream press from down there, and they are not even printing the rumor. It is the right wing anti immigrants who started the rumor, print the rumor and scare people. These right wingers are claiming that the forest service and the border patrol know that the fires were started near known drug smuggling routes and that neither group will say anything about who started the fires because it would make Obama and Napolitano look bad. Spreading such fear is bad for AZ and bad for our country. If the drug smugglers are starting the fires, they must realize that it is much harder to move secretly though huge open burned area for years in the future. It makes no sense. Yes, the fires are human caused by idiots, but I think that is enough to say until someone is caught.

NEW YORK - New York police arrested a man for a third time for selling condoms bearing President Obama's image despite a court ruling in his favor. Jose Andujar, 43, was arrested Friday in Times Square for selling the Obama condoms, and police said it was his third arrest for unlicensed peddling in the past year, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
A State Supreme Court justice previously ruled Andujar does not need a vending license to sell the condoms, and his products are protected under his First Amendment right to free speech. However, police said Andujar will continue to be subject to arrest pending the outcome of the city's appeal.
Andujar uses politically themed slogans to sell his wares, including "It's the election, erection for your protection" and "It's the ultimate stimulus package for hard times."
