Free Rambling Thoughts…
We are still having great weather in Flag. So nice.

I caught up on my weekly Sunday News shows. So amazing that some are upset with Obama’s Israeli position…it’s been exactly the same—moving back to 1967 borders since Carter. Maybe they realize that Obama may be the first to actually make it happen.

I have long wondered why the US Postal Service, always in financial trouble, sponsored a team of non-postal workers for the Tour de France. The USPS spent $10mil/year during their 8 year contract with the objective of the sponsorship: to "increase revenue and sales of Postal Service's products on a global basis and to increase sales in key international markets" with a specific monetary goal of increasing [annual international] revenue by $20 million. It didn’t work. They stopped their sponsorship when the contract ended in 2003. Now that the latest 60 Minutes story is out, I’ll bet there will be closer scrutiny on sponsorships. The sport of competitive cycling may be in the headlines, and its greatest rider may fall from grace. It will be a sad day if Armstrong is found to have been using banned substances for all those wins—especially since he has denied it for so many years.

I was happy to see that my Federal and State refund both posted this week in my bank account. They will certainly help out a little with my Grand Canyon trip. The more I read about the trip, the more excited I’m getting.

Yeah, It Really Happened…
CARANGOLA, Brazil - Guinness World Records announced a Brazilian woman who is 114 years and 313 days old is being officially recognized as the world's oldest living person. The record-keeping organization said Maria Gomes Valentim of Carangola was given the title after she was found to be 48 days older than the previous record holder, Besse Cooper of Monroe, Ga., who has now been dubbed the oldest living North American. Valentim, who was born July 9, 1896, said her long life is likely connected to her diet, which includes a full roll of bread each morning with coffee and fruit. She said she occasionally drinks a glass of wine. "To receive a claim from a woman born during the reign of Queen Victoria -- before the Ford Motor Co. was formed, or before even George and Ira Gershwin were born -- is remarkable in itself, but for that woman to be Brazilian makes it extra special. Never has a successful claim for longevity emerged from Brazil -- until now," said Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records.

A guy was in a cave, looking for treasure. He found an old lamp, rubbed it, and a genie came out.
The genie said "I will grant you three wishes, but your ex-wife will get double."
The man agreed, and said "I wish I had a mansion." The genie granted it, and his ex-wife got two mansions.
The man said "I would like a million dollars." The genie again granted it and his ex-wife got two million dollars.
Then the man said, "Scare me half to death."
