Random Tidbits

Another uncommon such unit is a 'shake'.  Derived from "two shakes of a lamb's tail," a shake is ten nanoseconds, which is 1 x 10 to the -8 seconds. When modeling a nuclear event on the computer we would start with so much designated energy at a shake, and  then after a few hours of calculating get a simulation of the first few seconds of the reaction.

Strict security measures are in place to keep Fort Knox secure. That means no one person knows the entire entry combination to access the gold vault. Instead, the information is divided up among several people. Even information about who knows a piece of the combination is classified.

Guarding Fort Knox and its gold reserves are members of the United States Mint Police. Established in 1792, the Mint Police organization is one of the country's oldest federal law enforcement agencies. Before being tasked with guarding the gold, each member of the Mint Police must go through a three-month training regiment, followed by a five-week specialized training in the field.

My Rambling Thoughts

Starting another week of stay home, stay safe. I'm getting tired of it, but know it is the best thing to do.

If you like country music, last night was great on CBS. Good music, uplifting. Both 'concerts' were very good and kinda unexpected.

Oh, the irony...gas prices are the lowest in decades, and no one can go anywhere. The second that this stay at home thing ends, the price of gas will skyrocket, hopefully not higher than they were when this all started.
