Free Rambling Thoughts
Overnight snow ended early and I was greeted with a clear sky at sunrise. Then I looked at the thermometer…8°.  It was a cold day all day. My only outing was to the mailbox. Tomorrow I’ve got to run errands. Since I was home all day, I baked some chocolate chip cookies. Nothing like comfort food on a cold wintery day.

The weather news was all about snow in Phoenix…or at least in the desert outside Phoenix and on the higher hills. It is unusual to have snow at 2400’, but this weekend brought it down that low. It did make for some nice pictures…tall saguaro cactus with snow on the tops of each arm. Flag’s total of 13.4” of snow with .5” of moisture from the four day storm hardly made the Phoenix news. Each story dealt with interstate accidents, but nothing on how beautiful Flag is when it snows. Sigh…

My brother and his wife have been in Miami Beach this past week for Art Basel 2011. It is a very high class art showing at various galleries in the Miami Beach area. There were over 2000 artists and 50,000 attendees. They have lots of connections and some of my brother’s design were shown at one of the galleries. Very cool.

You are given a series of sentences, each of which is missing three words. The word in the first blank is five letters long. Drop the last letter to get a four-letter word for the second blank. Drop the last letter to get a three-letter answer for the third blank. For example, given the sentence, "While I was filming at the Egyptian pyramids, a ____ with a rider on it ____ into view of my ____," the words would be "camel," "came" and "cam."

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
