My Free Rambling Thoughts   
I had a great lunch with Cheryl today. We both agree that we are way past ‘drama’ in our lives. It is nice to have friends, but when they constantly live from one drama to the next, it gets very old very fast. Her issue is one of her neighbors, mine is my former financial advisor. Since Cheryl spent a number of years in that business, as a trainer, she was able to put some new light on our mutual acquaintance. While for over 30 years my former spent her life dealing with her clients. Little did any of us realize that she was also looking for a man. When she found a man, she let her business fall apart. Now that she is married, neither she nor her husband seems to be that involved in salvaging her former business. I had seen this as strange, ever since I heard the stories from her. Now I see that there is more going on for sure. My finances are safe, but it is sad to see someone just walk away from a business that was so important to her and her ‘later years’. I’m actually happy that she has a new love and that she is ready to head for her new home, mainly because I won’t have to hear about the drama.
 
The weatherman says we are in for a few days of dry weather, but the clouds outside sure look like rain, and they have cooled things off a lot in the past hour or so. I have one of those ‘atomic clocks’, the kind that figure out the time from some satellite somewhere. It also has a temperature remote for outside. During the past few weeks it was only getting the temperature on a sporadic basis. Don’t really know why because neither the clock nor the remote have moved. Today I moved the remote from the back of the house to the front of the house, and everything seems to be working again. Hope it continues to let me know how hot/cold it is outside.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Snapping turtles are increasingly moving into U.S. urban areas as their natural habitats are being polluted or destroyed by development, wildlife experts say. "Snapping turtles are animals that can live in almost any aquatic habitat as long as their basic needs for survival are met," Bill Peterman, a postdoctoral researcher in biology at the University of Missouri said. "Unfortunately, suitable aquatic habitats for turtles are being degraded by pollution or completely lost due to development. We found that snapping turtles can persist in urbanized areas, despite the potential for more interaction with humans." That interaction should not be a concern to people, he said. "Everyone has a snapping turtle story, but some are just too far-fetched and lead to false accusations," Peterman said in a university release. "In reality, snapping turtles aren't aggressive animals and won't bite unless they are provoked. So, if you should happen to see one around your property, simply leave it alone and let it go about its business." Reducing negative inputs such as waste and harmful chemicals into waterways will help restore snapping turtles' habitats, he said. Researchers looked at snapping turtles living in the Central Canal that flows through urban Indianapolis. "While we didn't study whether the snapping turtle populations were increasing or decreasing, we regularly saw hatchling and juvenile snapping turtles," Peterman said. "Snapping turtles may not be the first animals that come to mind when thinking about urban wildlife, but if we continue to improve waterways in more places, such as big cities, then the species can coexist peacefully."  
Somewhat Useless Information
