My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Another day with rain, thunder, lightning, and sadly flooding below burn areas.

I took off this morning to get a much-needed haircut. My appointment was at 9:30 but I was taken right in when I got there at 9:20. Out by 9:40. Nice.

Biden signed the climate, tax, healthcare bill. Good job! Let’s get this show on the road.

Liz Cheney lost in her primary in Wyoming. Not surprised. I believe she still has a career ahead.

Monsoon season continues. Flag has had 3.82” of rain this monsoon season, normal is 3.02, so it has been wetter than average, and more is falling every day. WOW…and thankful.

Gov Ducey, AZ, decided to use funding to ‘work on the open border.’ To do this he was convinced that buying shipping crates and welding them together would make a great ‘wall’ since each one weighs 8800 pounds. They put up and welded several, but it was quitting time before they finished two of them. During the night, those last two toppled over. They have an investigation going to see how this happened. They ruled out wind or other weather-related issues, and there was no earthquake. I guess they are now checking divine intervention.

  "Nature Boy" is a song first recorded by American jazz singer Nat King Cole. It was released on March 29, 1948, as a single by Capitol Records, and later appeared on the album, The Nat King Cole Story. It was written by Eden Ahbez as a tribute to Bill Pester, who practiced the Naturmensch and Lebensreform philosophies adopted by Ahbez. Thanks to Ed for finding this one.

2005 – A massive power blackout hits the Indonesian island of Java, affecting almost 100 million people, one of the largest and most widespread power outages in history, and lasted just over six hours.
