You can't love anyone until you understand
that you can't love everyone.

Random Tidbits

Abraham Lincoln attended seances at the White House.
Lincoln's wife, Mary Lincoln, became interested in seances after their young son Willie died in 1862. At the White House, she engaged mediums, who conducted "spirit circles" or ceremonies during which those who attended could communicate with their loved ones who had crossed over into the next world.

Mary was eager to believe in these mediums as it made her loss somewhat bearable, and she encouraged the president to attend a few seances, which he did. It is not clear if Lincoln participated to appease his wife or out of real interest and belief.

My Rambling Thoughts

Been so busy lately, I didn’t realize it was way past time for a pedi. My regular lady wasn’t there, but still got a good one.

I joined Cub Scouts while in Elementary School, then joined Boy Scouts and stayed active through my HS Freshman year. I had a great den mother who always came up with new and different crafts. My Boy Scout leader was a hiker and our troop did many a hikes, along with camping, and summer camp. I am sickened and saddened that other scouts didn’t have the great experience I had. Now after many allegations (about 1500) The BSA is filing for bankruptcy. The BSA has already paid out $150 million to 275 victims. Insurance says it can’t pay for the pending cases. That doesn’t mean no more Boy Scouts, it means that they are just cutting down on how much victims can receive in the future. If they do survive, they better have deep background checks on all their volunteers and paid staff. Too bad the Boy Scout law: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Clean, Brave, and Reverent did not apply to the adult volunteers. Disgusted.

Congrats to Jeff Bezo’s, the Amazon Guru, for donating $10billion to fight Climate Change.
