My Free Rambling Thoughts   
Note to self: Not a fan of ‘heavy frozen fog’. It sure makes thing look eerie. And makes if feel a whole lot colder. While the weather guy said the fog would be gone midday, it really wasn’t. There are still clouds down most of the mountain near my house. It is still overcast too. Not a great day to be outside.
 
My Sunday morning news programs were either on hiatus for the weekend, or were running Breaking News on the train crash in the Bronx. Certainly a horrible crash but got tired of the repeated footage. They did have a couple of people who were on the train who told their amazing story of the crash and the escape from the wreckage.  
 
Broncos game was on TV…and they won again…good day! Cards lost again.

Very Strange Laws…Rhode Island
  • Cap guns are illegal.
  • Ropes may not be strung across a highway.
  • No one may bite off another’s leg.
  • Impersonating a town sealer, auctioneer, corder of wood, or a fence-viewer is against the law.
  • Riding a horse over any public highway for the purpose of racing, or testing the speed of the horse is illegal.
  • Exercising any labor, business, or work, or using any game, sport, play, or recreation, or causing any of the above to be done to or by your children, servants, or apprentices on the first day of the week (Sunday) results in a penalty of $5 for the first offense and $10 for the second.
  • Professional sports, except ice polo and hockey, must obtain a license to play games on Sunday.
  • Any marriage where either of the parties is an idiot or lunatic is null and void.
  • It is considered an offense to throw pickle juice on a trolley.

Yeah, It Really Happened
OKLAHOMA CITY - A UPS spokeswoman said the company is investigating photographs appearing to depict a sexual encounter in the back of an Oklahoma delivery truck. Susan Rosenberg, a spokeswoman for the delivery company's corporate office, said officials were investigating after an Oklahoma City-area woman who identifies herself as a "happiness consultant" named "Mary Ann" posted pictures of herself in the back of a UPS truck on her website, KXTV, Oklahoma City, reported Tuesday. The pictures depict Mary Ann with her breasts exposed while wearing an open UPS shirt. "Look at my naughty time from yesterday," a caption on the pictures reads. The pictures were brought to the company's attention by Brian Bates, who uses his JohnTV.com website to expose prostitution in Oklahoma City. "What really shocked me is that a driver would put himself in this position, no pun intended, and then allow the pictures to be posted publicly," Bates said. Bates said the post also included graphic details of Mary Ann's sexual encounter with the driver of the UPS truck. Rosenberg said UPS officials are outraged about the use of company property for the encounter. "It disrespects UPS drivers and customers. This is not behavior we would ever condone for anyone, let alone for our company. We want to assure other drivers and our customers that this will be fully investigated," Rosenberg said.  
Somewhat Useless Information   
  • Skunks eat just about anything: eggs, insects, fruits, rodents, dead animals, and more.
  • A snake bite does not kill skunks-they are immune to snake venom.
  • A skunk has two anal glands that carry the spray material. These glands carry limited amount, enough to spray 5 to 8 times. Afterward, the skunk needs sometimes over a week to reload the glands. Skunks
  • spray sparingly.
  • A skunk can spray the yellow oily foam (sulfuric acid) from its musk a 10 to 15 feet distance.
  • A skunk always warns before spraying: it turns its back to the target, hisses, and stumps its feet.
  • Skunks are not aggressive toward humans. They only spray in self defense.
  • Skunk spray does not hurt or damage humans or other animals. It is only a terrible smell that lasts for days and is very difficult to get rid of.

My Free Rambling Thoughts   
Ah, December is here. Strange weather day for us…last night was smoky and foggy. While the weatherman said the fog would burn off, it didn’t…it has been foggy and overcast most of the day. A nearby neighborhood is called Smokerise. Well, today that didn’t. We have lots of residences with fireplaces and they too have been blazing away today, adding to the messy day. The weather bureau just issued a ‘heavy freezing fog warning’ until 11am on Sunday.  WTF? This is a high desert.
 
Relaxing day around the house. No need to be outside in this dreary weather. Caught up on some DVR series, but not as many as usual as most shows are repeats during the holidays or won’t start up again until after the new year.

Yeah, It Really Happened
It seems a Tennessee man gave his entire estate to his two cats instead of his family.
And we're not talking some ratty old furniture in a retirement condo that smells like Metamucil and cat pee. Leon Sheppard Sr. left behind a 4,270-square-foot house and $250,000 for his two cats, Frisco and Jake. His will outlines that the money is to care for his cats and the maintenance of the home.
"If their owner sees fit, they can create a trust for the welfare and benefit of the cats and their care," attorney Randy Fishman said.
Fishman, who has practiced law for almost 35 years, explains that this is a rare case.
"I don't know if I've ever come across one," Fishman said.
The family could see some money from the estate eventually. When Frisco dies, whatever is left of the estate including the home can be passed to Sheppard's human heirs, but Jake must be cared for still.

  • Did you know that Europe has 163, 000 suicide incidents annually? According to the World Health Organization (WHO) it is the highest rate in the world.The most popular suicide site in Europe in the Eiffel Tower in Paris.  least four to five suicide incidents happen annually. However, there’ s something funny about that. A woman jumped off the Eiffel Tower, landed on a car, survived and got married to the owner of the car!
  • Arianna Huffington, the famous Greek-American entrepreneur and journalist and president and editor-in-chief of the ‘Huffington Post’ wrote the biography of a very famous singer. Who’s that singer? In 1981 Huffington wrote the biography of Maria Callas  ”Maria Callas – The Woman Behind the Legend”. In 1989, she also wrote a biography of Pablo Picasso, Picasso: Creator and Destroyer.
