My Rambling Thoughts

Turkey breast turned out moist and tasty. Several people dropped by and one friend even brought ham. Nice meal, enjoyable conversation. Good day. And had a cold turkey sandwich with mayo for lunch today.

Headed to Home Depot this morn for their poinsettia sale. The strip mall was packed at 10a, even though they had been open since 6a. Got the poinsettia and headed home. Looking at the parking lot and knowing what was happening inside the other stores, I decided I really didn’t need anything else. Crowds, even in a small town, are just not for me.

My Rambling Thoughts

Yesterday my retired Financial Advisor came to Flag for the trial against her business manager who set up CC accounts in my FA’s name and bought the FA’s book, but only made 2 payments. Trial is next week. She had some of her friends over for a get-together. Met some fascinating people: an immigration lawyer and her husband, a lady from Spain who spends time in Flag when not traveling, and an octogenarian and his wife who just wrote a nice book about growing up a Syrian boy. All in all, it was great conversation that lasted about 5 hours. Longer than I expected but well worth the time.  

As a creature of habit, I headed out this morning for my weekly shopping. Figured it would be quick since it was before noon. Sam’s was fine. Grocery store, which had NOT put out a new ad, had only ‘long-walk’ parking and carts and people in every single aisle. Most shoppers were looking for very specific stuff by parking their cart and carefully reading labels on several brands of the item before selecting the ‘right’ one. That shopping trip took almost twice as long as usual. And I got all I needed.

Turkey is thawed and ready for cooking tomorrow. Not sure who is going to show up but I’ll have food for those who do.
