Why did the ghost go to beauty school?

It wanted to open up a boo-tique.

Trivia

As it turns out, the story first appeared in an 1806 autobiography of Washington, whose writer admitted that he was just trying to show how our most beloved president's "unparalleled rise and elevation were due to his Great Virtues."

Columbus' discovery of America. Let's start with the basics. You can't "discover" something that's already occupied. But even if you discount the Native Americans, Columbus was still 500 years too late. Norse explorer Leif Erikson beat him to the punch, landing on these shores during the 10th century. What's more, Columbus didn't even set foot on what would become the United States. He landed on several Caribbean islands.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Only a dusting of snow…much less than forecast. Took some time to remove the ice from my windshield…frozen rain from last night.

I needed some groceries. On the way back I stopped for some weekend cash. My card expired and I hadn’t put the new one in my wallet. Dumb move, so I had to wait in the long line of vehicles to get the cash. Covid closed the bank and it is still closed. Only two people run the drive-thru.

The Dole funeral was well done.

It took 9 hrs. for the jury to find Smollett guilty on 5 of 6 counts. I’m sure there will be appeals.

It took Leonardo da Vinci about five years to paint the Mona Lisa. X-rays of the famous painting show that there are three different versions underneath.

We all know the story about how 6-year-old George Washington chopped down his father's cherry tree, and when his dad confronted him about it, George supposedly confessed claiming, "I cannot tell a lie." Except it's not true.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Overcast, raining, windy…now expecting 4” of snow tonight and/or tomorrow. The rain is great for our forest. I’m not complaining. Plan on spending the day at home if it snows tomorrow.

Our retirement group met for a nice lunch. We all are doing well, had good conversation, and good Mexican food.

I did not know this:
