The day is warming up nicely.
The unrest outside the soccer game in
Amsterdam is disturbing. Many are saying Jews are being targeted.
Colorado is getting lots of snow. The
Governor has called out the National Guard to assist. Hope everyone will get through
this.
It sure looks like there will be a
peaceful transfer of power. That in itself is a win for the Constitution and
our country.
Looking at the world view, the world
has changed with more and more leaders on the right and far right. The middle
and moderate left have work to do around the world.

Can Warm Your Temperature
Considering reaching for a
bottle of whiskey to combat the winter cold? Hold that thought! While a nip of
alcohol might give you a momentary illusion of warmth, it’s essentially playing
tricks on your body’s internal temperature control. Alcohol has a knack for
coaxing your blood vessels, especially those near the surface of your skin, to
widen and expand.
This might initially feel like
a cozy bear hug from within, but here’s the twist—it’s a deceitful one. In
reality, your body is losing heat at a brisk pace. What’s more, this dilation
of blood vessels undermines your body’s natural defenses against the cold,
upping the odds of hypothermia creeping in.

(PAVE PAWS) was a Cold War system of computer and radar equipment developed to
“detect and characterize a sea-launched ballistic missile attack against the
United States”.

US President #27 William H. Taft
(1909-1913) William Taft started the tradition of the Presidential “first
pitch” of baseball season. It took place on April 4, 1910,

Men had all the power while
women had none in Rome
Do you want to see how Rome’s
family hierarchy worked? It appears that men possessed all power, while women
had no. Men could arrange marriages, divorce their wives, and reject newborns
if necessary.
Women were also expected to marry men and have kids. If they
didn’t, they were accused of being the problem. They also had to look after the
house and work as servers, nurses, or crafters. They did not get a first name
and instead used the feminine interpretation of their fathers’ names.

2001 - After 15 years of
negotiations, China's membership in the World Trade Organization was
approved, and the following day Taiwan's membership was approved.
1975 - The American freighter Edmund Fitzgerald sank during a storm
on Lake Superior, killing all 29 aboard; its mysterious demise inspired
