One of my friends just got a hardback copy of her book. The publisher has been selling it as a paperback, and has now moved it to hardback. The book “Caitlin, Priestess of the Goddess” is visionary fiction. It tells a story in Pre-Druid times that has a message for today. It is a really big deal to move from paperback to hardback. Congrats to her. The hardback will be available soon at Amazon (the paperback is already there) or by emailing her—independentcelt@aol.com.

My tax situation has been postponed one more week. When I got there they needed my K-1 documents from the last three years. I called my financial advisor, knowing she could get them sooner than I could find them. The fax came in too late to contact the Colorado tax office. All of us on this end know that there is a mistake on their end. But, like with all tax stuff, the collector makes the allegation, and it is the tax payer’s responsibility to prove it is an incorrect allegation. For any who have dealt with a state’s tax man or woman, they know that 1. These people speak a very specific language that is not easily understood by the citizenry. 2. They assume the citizen has made a mistake. 3. They like to say they are there to help, but don’t really mean it. 4. They always have the upper hand. (I’ll let my tax guy deal with them---someday).

The Monsoon returned this afternoon with a nice little shower. There was enough nearby lightning that I unplugged all my electronics. There was enough thunder to wake the dead. There was enough rain to cool things off, wet the pavement and the ground. The rain brought us from 85° to about 72° in just a few minutes. August in Flagstaff is great.

Crazy Stuff In The News…

JOLIET, Ill. - Drowsy spectators in one suburban Chicago courtroom might want to stifle their yawns from now on. Clifton Williams, 33, of Richton Park, is facing six months in jail for making what court documents call a yawn-like sound in Will County Judge Daniel Rozak's court last month. The yawn happened as Williams' cousin, Jason Mayfield, was being sentenced for a drug charge on July 23.
Rozak found Williams in contempt of court and sentenced him to six months in jail. However, Rozak could free Williams after a status hearing Thursday, if Williams apologizes and the judge accepts. By then, Williams will have served 21 days.
Witnesses disagree about whether Williams' yawn was out of line. From MSN.com
