Free Rambling Thoughts…
Last night my area of Flag had quite a bit of smoke from the local fire. It was so smelly that I had to close my windows about 8pm. The fire is still bringing some smoke into Flag but the fire seems to be under control. Two other fires in the White Mountains are destroying thousands of acres and forcing several town evacuations. So many people think that AZ is the Phoenix/Tucson desert. AZ is so much more, and all these annual fires are destroying way too much forest throughout the state. So sad.

I ran some errands around Flag today. KOA was filling up this afternoon; traffic is much heavier than usual. All this must be good for Flag’s economy. I’m sure the wind and smoke isn’t helping.

To incorporate these elements into your diet is easy; all you have to do is eat. The best choices in food that include these elements are: sardines, herrings, shellfish, dried and sprouted beans, nuts, seeds, apples, apricots, black currents, carrots, bananas, liver, beets, celery, barley, brown rice, oats, kidney, lean beef, Brewer’s yeast, black strap molasses, wheat germ, basil, rosemary, ginger, and licorice. It is best to avoid foods high in sugar like baked goods and sodas, because they result in great fluctuations in blood-sugar levels, which causes breaks in your concentration and energy levels.

Yeah, It Really Happened…
SANTIAGO, CHILE: a captive male Darwin's frog coughed up ten babies Thursday at a zoo in Santiago, Chile, a milestone in a project to save the amphibians from extinction.
The vulnerable species is one of two members of the only genus on Earth that rears its young inside of its vocal sac, a job taken on by the males.
"They have a small opening below their tongue. … After [the eggs] hatch, he takes the tadpoles into his mouth and manipulates them through that opening and into his vocal sac," Danté Fenolio, a conservation scientist with the Atlanta Botanical Garden, explained to me today.
"For about 60 days, they go all the way through to development inside his vocal sac. At that point when they are ready, fully developed, he coughs up fully formed miniatures of the adult."
Fenolio is working on a captive breeding project with the National Zoo and Universidad Catolica in Santiago to build a so-called assurance population of the frogs that can be released into the wild once, or if, environmental threats to their natural habitat are thwarted.
The babies coughed up Thursday are the second batch produced by the frogs, a sign that the project is meeting success.
