Free Rambling Thoughts
A nice day here is Flag. Got in a nice walk around 10a…cool but not cold. I also got the music onto two of my movies and will posting them soon. I still have at least one more to make that will include some of my actual videos.

And I got my tickets to Merida for my brother’s 60th b-day bash. It should be a lot of fun. Now I just have to figure out how to get to Phx. I’ll either drive or take the shuttle. One never knows what the weather will be in early January. I’ll decide as the time gets closer. Thankfully the shuttle prices don’t change. It should be a great break…right after the break to Chicago. That’s a lot of breaks in the next few months.

Denver played on TV today and won. Guess they should be on the AZ channels more often. They waited until OT to go ahead, but it was a good game. The Cards won earlier today so I’m a happy camper.

NPR Sunday Puzzle…(answers at the end of post)
You will be given a five-letter word and seven-letter word. Rearrange the letters of one of these words to get a synonym of the other. For example, if you are given "alloy" and "devoted," the answer would be "loyal," which is an anagram of "alloy."

Easy shortcuts to make an ‘educated’ guess

Somewhat Useless Information
  • A tittle is the dot that is placed over a lowercase j or i in the English language. Other tittles include diacritic marks found above or below letters (façade, résumé), which are found mostly in other languages.
  • An aglet is the metal, plastic, wood, etc. fastener that binds the fibers of shoe laces at their ends.

N EW YORK - A 60-year-old New York man suing a music competition for age discrimination claims the 88-year-old judge assigned to his case is "unable to function."
Martin Stoner, a violinist suing the non-profit Young Concert Artists for only allowing musicians less than one-third his age, said he admits trying to get U.S. District Judge Robert Patterson, 88, off his case may seem hypocritical, but the judge is "slow-witted and unable to function," the New York Daily News reported Monday.
"Judge Patterson could barely see unless he put his face almost on top of a document," Stoner wrote in his judicial complaint. "Judge Patterson should be removed from the bench, both because of his mental and physical limitations," Stoner wrote. "With all due respect, he may have been a very learned jurist in his day."
Patterson declined to comment but colleagues defended his skills on the bench as beyond reproach.

Guffaw…or at least smile
A passerby noticed a couple of city workers working along the city sidewalks. The man was quite impressed with their hard work, but he couldn't understand what they were doing.
Finally, he approached the workers and asked, "I appreciate how hard you're both working, but what the heck are you doing? It seems that one of you digs a hole, and then the other guy immediately fills it back up again.
One of the city workers explained, "The third guy who plants the trees is off sick today."

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
