 Today’s Birthdays:
How many can you identify?…answers in Today’s Birthdays

My Free Rambling Thoughts
A nice Monday, not too hot, not too cool, not too windy…but just right. Windows open and fresh air moving through the house. Then the weatherman comes on the TV and says to expect a couple of inches of snow on Thursday.

I got calls from a former teacher at Tuba. She must be in her early 90’s by now. She is living down in Casa Grande with her grandson. None of us had heard from her for many many months and were concerned about her well being. Glad to hear she is doing OK…although she wanted me to get a bunch of people together to re-open the government. I think I convinced her that everything will be OK. However she ended the call with ‘call me and let me know your plan.’ Also today a current teacher at Tuba sent out a message that she was ready to move from Tuba and needed letters of recommendation. Interesting way to contact everyone by simply tagging them in her message. I private messaged her to find out what she was thinking. Seems she has a desire to move to Kaibeto, both educationally and spiritually. She is an outstanding teacher with a good head on her shoulders, so I’ll get a letter together this week.

I’m still happy with Firefox using Windows7. So much easier and so much faster. Too bad I waited so long to switch from IE. One would think since IE is a Microsoft product, it would work best on a Windows machine…but one would be very wrong…Chrome, Safari, and Firefox all work better, faster, and more easily.

Brain Teasers
It's true I bring serenity, And hang around the stars, But yet I live in misery, You'll find me behind bars. With thieves and villains I consort, In prison I'll be found, But I would never go to court, Unless there's more than one.

Sixth Place
While at the beach, Daniel Jones, 21, dug an 8 foot hole for protection from the wind and had been sitting in a beach chair at the bottom, when it collapsed, burying him beneath 5 feet of sand. People on the beach used their hands and shovels trying to get him out but could not reach him. It took rescue workers using heavy equipment almost an hour to free him. Jones was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Unusual Fact of the Day
World Famous Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey is made in only one place: the small town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, population 361. Though the town supplies the world with the famous libation, not a drop may be purchased for consumption anywhere in town. Moore County is a "dry" county, meaning that the sale and consumption of alcohol is illegal.

Joke-of-the-day
A history professor and a psychology professor were sitting outside at a nudist colony. The history professor asked: “Have you read Marx?
The psychology professor replied: “Yes. I think it’s from the wicker chairs.”

PLANNING YOUR TRAINING
Never increase your training by more than 10 percent a week. Increases of 10 to 15 percent every three weeks make more sense.
Yeah, It Really Happened
OKLAHOMA CITY - An Oklahoma man was arrested on burglary charges after police matched his DNA to used toilet paper found at the scene of the crime, police said. Charles Marqull Williams, 20, was charged Wednesday with burglary in Oklahoma County District Court for allegedly stealing from an area home, The (Oklahoma City) Oklahoman reported. Police said the suspect broke into the home, took several items, and used the bathroom before taking off. Unflushed feces and a used piece of toilet paper on the floor were found at the scene. Police matched DNA found in the messy bathroom to Williams.
Somewhat Useless Information
  • Wheel of Fortune's original name was "Shoppers Bazaar" and included a wheel that was much bigger and featured carnival sound effects.
  • When athletes or celebrities appear on Wheel of Fortune, their winnings are donated to a charity of their choice.
  • The Wheel is equipped with over 200 computerized lighting instruments capable of up to 2 million different color choices.
  • There are seventy-three stainless steel pins on the Wheel that fly past three hard rubber "flippers," giving it an unmistakable sound.
  • The price of a vowel hasn't changed in 30 years. It's still a bargain at $250.
  • On any given tape day in the studio, more than 100 staff and crew are hard at work behind the scenes. On remote, there are over 200 local staff and crew in addition to 160 staff and crew from Los Angeles and other cities.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site has mistakes and sadly once out the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
