  Birthdays Today:
How many can you identify? Answers below in Birthday’s Today

My Rambling Thoughts
Woke up to lots of wind this morning, but it calmed down during the day, then started up again. Lots of clouds early, then a clear blue sky.
Our discussion group is meeting next Saturday to discuss Ebola. Our moderator is a nurse who, until recently has been teaching nursing classes twice a year in Liberia. Should be very informative.
A quiet Monday, with some shopping early but the rest of the day was home and inside, to stay out of the wind.
I never served in the Military, but have great respect for those who did, including my father during WWII. On the Rez, Vets were always honored. For a number of years at Tuba, we would have students made displays of their relatives who served. Then we had Vets come in and talk to various classes about their service. Then the Vets would be able to eat lunch with the students. Always a special day. When the holiday changed back to always being on Nov 11, we moved the celebration to the day before. Great memories.

Brain Teasers
My history is long in telling,
Though my origins are unknown.
I watch the tender earth most carefully,
Clothed in discards long disowned.
I guard against the raucous poachers,
Praying for a gust of wind that will animate my lifeless form.
The autumn winds will signal the completion of my job.
Maybe if I had a brain I'd choose to move south for the winter.

Who am I?

Joke-of-the-day
Why is 6 afraid of 7?
Because 7,8,9.

Yep, It Really Happened
There are some benefits to drinking alcohol, moderate amounts can be good for your health, immoderate amounts can give you a warm fuzzy feeling of fraternity with the whole human race, but there are disadvantages too, not the least of which is doing really stupid things when pulled over by the police.
A 40-year-old man is facing multiple charges after New York state police say he tried to eat his DWI test results.
Troopers say Kenneth Desormes, of Greenwich, Connecticut, was stopped for speeding at 5:30 a.m. After speaking with him, the troopers determined he was intoxicated and arrested him.
Desormes was transported to the state police barracks to be processed. Troopers say when his breathalyzer tests results were printing, Desormes grabbed the paperwork and tried to eat it.
He is charged with driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, and criminal tampering.

Disclaimer: All opinions are mine…feel free to agree or disagree.
All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
