My Rambling Thoughts
Warming up for a great spring day…and little wind.

Last night’s discussion was very good. We made it for 2 hours without saying how 45 had messed up some element of the discussion. Modern medicine is totally amazing. One of our participants, a nurse who has been working in Liberia teaching nursing students, had a stoke while doing water aerobics here in Flag. She was taken to the hospital, determined she needed to be airlifted to Phoenix for a procedure that puts a laser though an artery directly to the clot in the brain. Zap, Zap. The clot is gone. She had a week of rehab and is doing good now. Her husband had called early yesterday to say that he didn’t think they would come, but then called about 30 minutes before the meeting and said that Marge really wanted to be there, so they came. She participated very well. Her biggest problem in recovery is the lack of oxygen in our air and the while the Dr. suggested oxygen, the Medicare needs more forms before accepting the prognosis.

Got an email from a Focus Travel Buddy that she had twisted her leg/ankle, was in a wheelchair for a while, and won’t be going to the Amazon with us. Sally will be greatly missed. She is a great traveler and always has a good story or two or more. Hope she heals quickly.

Haircut and pedi on this week’s schedule. Also, will let the CPAP people that the new headgear is fantastic. So nice to awake with no markings on my face and not being awakened when the old huge mask moves off my face. All is good.

All ‘data’ info is from the internet sites and is usually checked with at least one other source, but I have learned that every site contains mistakes and sadly once the information is out there, many sites simply copy it and is therefore difficult to verify. Also for events occurring before the Gregorian calendar was adopted [1582] the dates may not be totally accurate.
