Random Tidbits

In the wild, mushroom spores are spread by wind. On mushroom farms, spores are collected in a laboratory and then used to inoculate grains to create "spawn," a mushroom farmer's equivalent of seeds.

Mushroom spores are so tiny that 2,500 arranged end-to-end would measure only an inch in length.

The process of cultivating mushrooms - from preparing the compost in which they grow to shipping the crop to markets - takes about four months.

My Rambling Thoughts

Awoke to about 6” on snow. Nice! Street and sidewalk guys didn’t arrive till almost 10a but all is clear now. After they left, I un-buried my vehicle. Lots of moisture in this one so snow was heavy. Usually it snows, then clears up and the sun shines. Not today. It’s been cloudy all day so not a lot of melting, but no new snow is falling.

Not that excited about the playoffs, so I only watch them intermittently when nothing else is watchable.

I wonder if the Senate and House enjoyed their weekend while government employees were trying to figure out which bills to pay and which not to pay. Hopefully the new week will bring some compromise.
