Random Tidbits

Aluminum is pretty amazing. Not only is it naturally non-toxic and durable, but of the most commonly recycled materials, aluminum is the only material that is infinitely recyclable. What this means is that once produced, it can be recycled over and over and over without any loss in quality.

Aluminum is the third most common element in the Earth's crust and the most abundantly available metal on Earth. Two-thirds of the aluminum ever produced is still in use today.

My Rambling Thoughts

Few dates remained seared into our memory. 9/11 is one. For generations, this day will mark a monumental change in our country.

Broncos last night: Too little, too late. Not the game I was hoping for.

Yesterday while getting my tire fixed, I listened to a news briefing by the head of Customs & Border Protection. He gave a very convincing layout of how they were dealing with the Bahamas. I was glad to hear what he had to say. Then, the President tweeted, doing the exact opposite of what his CBP guy had just said. And he added the ‘drug cartel’ link. Odd, a few years ago he held his Miss Universe pageant in the Bahamas and invited everyone to visit. I am so exhausted by the roller coaster ride we are on.

The painter showed up this morning to repaint my front door and cover the part that wasn’t painted last time. We talked and had an amazing conversation. He grew up near Durango, Mexico and his wife is from Jalisco, Mexico. He told some great stories about his life, his culture and his joy of knowledge. He talked and I listened for a good 40 minutes. He is happy, enthusiastic, and a good worker. So glad I was able to hear his story. It all started when I mentioned that I liked travel since my retirement.

And…before noon…another ‘he said, he said’. This time it’s John Bolton v The President. Not a fan of either. IMHO, I’ll go with Bolton’s story…

Today’s Puzzle
Answer at the bottom of this page

What gets wet while drying?

Highlight the box to see the hint.
This one has a simple answer even though it stumps most people who try to figure it out. Wet and dry seem like they always have to be opposite, so you might get tripped up. Think of an object that can, ahem (hint!) absorb or be both.
