Random Tidbit

Not all diamonds are white. Impurities lend diamonds a shade of blue, red, orange, yellow, green and even black. A green diamond is the rarest. It is not the rarest gemstone, however. That title goes to a pure red ruby. Diamonds actually are found in fair abundance; thousands are mined every year. 80% of them are not suitable for jewelry - they are used in industry. Only diamonds of higher clarity are sourced to the jewelry stores.

My Rambling Thoughts

Cooler day, just waiting for the expected rain. Clouds are building up over the peaks. Yesterday there was a nice long female rain with about 30 minutes of male rain and got 0.75”. Thankfully only minor flooding from the recent fire. More good news, the San Francisco Peaks have several inches of snow; making a nice white long white cap for them. These storms also brought a small tornado in the Phoenix area.

Many have lamented on the younger generation’s lack of enthusiasm toward work, education, etc.…and glued to their social media. Well, there is still hope. A teenager, Greta Thunberg addressed the UN yesterday with a very powerful speech about climate change. No matter who speaks out about climate change, the naysayers will always be there. This speech will work to get more people involved in the earth’s health.

Ann is doing a great job of sharing photos of the current Focus trip in Ireland, UK, and Wales. Many of her pictures are showing up on the FB Focus Travel Club page.
