My Rambling Thoughts

Nice, but cool, today. Out and about for some essentials and a small load of laundry.

Saipan is a tourist destination in the Mariana Island chain, and part of the US. Lots of Chinese are welcomed each year. However; recently there has been concern that some Chinese women are coming to Saipan to have their baby, so it will be a US citizen. So, some flights from China to Saipan are requiring women to take a pregnancy test before boarding. They are given the kit at the gate, sent to a public restroom to take the test. They say it is so the women will not be denied entry after their flight. If they are denied entry due to pregnancy, they get a free flight back to China. The US has also decreased the non-visa entry from 45 to 14 days. In 2009 there were 12 births by Chinese women on a non-visa visit. In 2018 there were 545 births by Chinese women on a non-visa visit. Another debate this week. I’ll probably watch, but please…make it end soon. I’ve heard some good ideas, some crazy ideas, and some out-of-this-world ideas from the Dems. Then, the person who had the idea is suddenly not in the race anymore. The original idea was to have some the good ideas become part of the Democrat platform. Doesn’t look like that is going to play a big role in the platform. And if anyone believes that money is not playing the biggest role, I have a bridge you might be interested in.
