Random Tidbits

President Andrew Jackson’s pet parrot had to be removed from his funeral because it was swearing

During President Andrew Jackson’s funeral in 1845, his pet parrot began to speak obscenities and had to be removed. The parrot became excited while the crowd was gathering and began to swear, disturbing the mourning people. The bird was promptly escorted out as people were both in awe and horrified at the words. My Rambling Thoughts

Not warming up as quickly as I would like. Still a nice day. Too much Netflix last night for a long walk, so a short one had to do.

I did watch the Memorial Day thing on PBS...had to make big changes due to the virus. Still a good program.

Found time this morning to update the Focus Travel Club website. Several trips had to be moved to 2021 from this year. While everyone wants to travel, many venues have not yet opened. Ellie always works hard with Joe at Tumlare to have great trips at reasonable prices. Focus seldom travels during the high price seasons. It is impossible to tour the Fall Foliage of New England anytime except the fall. Since hotels and tours are not booking now, the trip had to move to 2021. It is a difficult decision but better than finding out in August that motels and tours are not available. Check out of website by clicking on the blue link at the beginning of the paragraph for all the updates.
