My Rambling Thoughts

A windy Saturday. I have been leaving some windows partially open all night for the past few days. This morning at 5am I was wakened by the furnace. Had to close the windows to finish my good night’s sleep.

Andy and Faith are leaving tomorrow for a week+ in Indiana with her family. I will be watering their trees and plants while they are gone. While he was explaining the various hoses, we discovered a 2’ bull snake basking on the cement driveway. It moved away quickly as we approached. I told Andy I wanted hazard pay to be around his snakes.

DL Hughley made a good point last night: Undisciplined police are placed in minority neighborhoods; the good cops are in the more affluent areas. If the undisciplined police were in the affluent areas, they would be fired. It is the same in some large school districts…newly graduated teachers are assigned to minority schools while the more experienced teachers are in more affluent areas.

Are police unions part of the current situation? How many elected officials receive money from police unions to not change the current laws regarding its members?

The Navajo Gaming Commission announced that the 4 casinos on the Navajo Nation would not open until Jul 5.

NAU released its fall dates for instruction. Classes begin early on Aug. 12 and end early, just before the Thanksgiving break. They are also making changes in their dorms with more rooms as singles, more sanitizing stations, and doors that are easier to open without touching them.
