Today’s  Quote

If you are going to achieve excellence in big things,

you develop the habit in little matters.

Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.

Random Tidbits

Aluminum is pretty amazing. Not only is it naturally non-toxic and durable, but of the most commonly recycled materials, aluminum is the only material that is infinitely recyclable. What this means is that once produced, it can be recycled over and over and over without any loss in quality. What are the other qualities and abilities of this miracle metal?

Aluminum is the third most common element in the Earth's crust and the most abundantly available metal on Earth. Two-thirds of the aluminum ever produced is still in use today.

What did the werewolf eat after he’d had his teeth taken out?

True Things

Teddy Roosevelt had unusual pets: ‘Bill’ was an hyena that was a gift from the President of Ethiopia, a one-legged rooster, a badger, a pony, and a small bear.

The CIA headquarters has its own Starbucks, but baristas don’t write names on the cups. Its receipts say “Store Number 1” instead of “Starbucks,” and its workers need an escort to leave their work posts.

My Rambling Thoughts

Great day to be outside…again. Can’t complain about the fall weather. Still warm, still nice.

I started Saturday with 3 loads of laundry. All clean, dried, folded or hung.

With the POTUS in the hospital, I hope everyone has learned that testing is not preventing. Presidential Health has seldom, if ever, been transparent. Every president pretends it is, but it just isn’t. It has to do with the office, not the party, not the person. The ‘leader of the free world’ must appear strong on all fronts to prevent enemies from taking advantage of a weakness. Some have been good at hiding the issue…JFK’s back, FDR’s polio, Ike’s heart attack, Reagan’s shooting, Wilson’s health and the list goes on. As much as I disapprove of just about everything Trump, I hope he recovers quickly.

Here are two interesting stats: 15-20% of those attending Trump rallies did not vote in 2016. Trump’s approval rating over this entire term has only varied by 10%, the lowest variation since the polls started.

The city of Flagstaff has released figures that show that Flagstaff is on the road to losing $15million in tax revenue by the end of 2020 due to Covid. Most of that loss is from tourist dollars not collected in sales and BBB tax. Vehicle sales and large item purchases are much lower. There will soon be some serious budget cutting at the city.
