My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Last night about 8pm the monsoon gave my place a nice rain with lots of lightning and thunder.

Just announced today: Lake Meade, the US largest reservoir, will cut water distribution to AZ, NV, and CA in 2022. Not a good announcement for farmers and residents of Phoenix, Vegas, and Tucson.

TCBS opened its doors to students last week with alternating online and in person classes. I got a call this morning from a very reliable source that one student in one class tested positive on Friday. I sure hope they find a quick solution.

60 Minutes had a story on ‘autonomous’ trucks…with no human on board. They are still in the testing stages and still have a human ‘back-u[‘ driver. One of the makers expects to have them on highways, without humans, by the end of 2021. I hope their testing becomes much more transparent and that regulatory agencies are getting the real picture of this new technology.

Facebook and Google are currently laying 7500 miles of underwater cable for Internet connections in Japan, Taiwan, Guam, Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore. Wow!

Biden's speech does not resolve any of the issues. Sad.
