My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

There was a big rainstorm last night then a gentle rain through much of the night. Nice! The forest is celebrating.

The Lake Tahoe fire as placed 33,000 structures in danger. This is huge fire that continues to grow. There is a fear that there will be major damage at the ski resort. Sad. All the National Parks in CA are now closed to visitors.

I am very glad that our troops are out of Afghanistan. I am very unhappy about how we withdrew. We did not protect our Afghan allies. We did not get out all the Americans who wanted out.  I want to believe that the Biden Administration will correct that ASAP. I am saddened that the internet continues to put out fake news and that some news organizations have people on the air that perpetrate those falsehoods. One false story is that the military left behind service dogs. The military denies the report and the pictures. Sadder still is that some animal rights groups (PETA) believed the story and prepared to save the service dogs. Distrubing!

In today’s world it is getting harder and harder to know which stories are real and which are false.
