I can cut wood by staring at it. I saw it with my own eyes.

Trivia

A diamond is the hardest natural substance on earth, but if it is placed in an oven and the temperature is raised to about 1405 degrees Fahrenheit, it will simply vanish, without even ash remaining. Only a little carbon dioxide will have been released.

A diamond is 58 times harder than the next hardest mineral on earth, corundum, from which rubies and sapphires are formed. It was only during the 15th century that it was discovered that the only way to cut diamonds was with other diamonds. Yet, diamonds are brittle. If you hit one hard with a hammer, it will shatter.

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

A decent fall day. I took a nice walk around the neighborhood.

The Broncos and the Cards each fell very short yesterday…on their home turf. Still early in the season.

The supply chain remains a mess. 60 Minutes did a good job of explaining what is happening and what will fix it. My takeaways: Many are making bundles of cash in storage space charges. Ports are owned by cities who decided who can and can’t enter, shippers are private businesses, and Federal government can’t do much to unclog the system. It is local governments, and private enterprise that must figure this mess out.

For the past many months, I have been following Bearsun on his walk from LA to NYC. His walk is to raise money and awareness for the disabled, cancer research, mental health, autism, and environment. Many others have been following his walk on Instagram and Facebook. He finished his walk yesterday in Times Square. While donations are still trickling in after he finished, his friend announced that each of the 5 charities got about $16,000. Very cool. Bearsun’s picture is in the ‘favorite memes’ section above.
