Daily Observations

My Sometimes-Long-Winded Thoughts

Sunshine and blue sky with cool temps after yesterday’s storm. Wind chill makes it feel like 18° instead of the thermometer that says 29°.

Maritime law says if you find it in the water, it is yours. Many have done this with treasures. Trevor Noah, of the Daily Show, pointed out that this only applies for water discoveries. If you find something elsewhere, it can be a real hassle to have it become yours. If you find a package on the street, you must turn it in and wait for someone to claim it before it is yours. Now that I think about it, it is strange.

I signed up for my shuttle this morning for my Tahiti trip. I’ve used the same people for years. Their website added for home pick-up…nice. But the computer said my address didn’t exist. So, I made the reservations and called for home pickup…like I have always had to do. The lady couldn’t do it either. After about 5 minutes she ‘fixed’ it, then I reminded her I needed home drop off too. Another 5 minutes. Gotta love technology.

Suddenlink, my TV provider, says the reason I don’t have CNN is a CNN problem and not their problem. Hmmm. CNN come on for several hours, then goes off, then comes back on a few hours later. Crazy. I had reported it several days ago, and she said CNN was working on it. I called again today and the lady said ‘I can’t do anything on my computer right now, but I can have a supervisor call you back.’ ‘Ok, call me within the hour.’ ‘It takes 24-48 hours for a supervisor.’ I said ‘OK’ and she just hung up. I sure wish they had competition.
