Thoughts for the day
The last storm dropped less than an
inch of snow. We need much more moisture before spring.
I called Mary yesterday to check on
her recovery from her ankle surgery last week. Turns out, she hasn’t had the
surgery yet. She showed up at the hospital at 8am on surgery day after doing
all the prep including two baths in cold water with some pink ointment to cover
her body. They informed her the surgery was cancelled. One her tests showed
A-Fib and that now has to be addressed. Lots of finger pointing as to why no one
notified her to not do the prep. She meets with a Phx cardiologist on Friday to
see what is going to happen next.
I got my new credit card from Chase
yesterday at 5pm via UPS. I’m not upset with them now.
The plane/helicopter crash in the
Potomac is devasting for over 60 families. I hope they find out the cause. I
don’t need to hear anyone’s ideas of what might have happened, and that include
Trump.
The Mona Lisa is getting its own room
at the Louvre. When I saw the Mona Lisa, I was shocked by it’s small size and I
don’t recall enjoying the other great paintings in that room. This is a good
move.
Trump wants to update Guantanamo
prison to hold the immigrants he is deporting. More military $$ for a lost
cause.
I am disappointed that Sec of Defense
Hegseth is asking for an investigation of retired General Miley that could lead
to a decrease in his rank and pension. This is exactly what RETRIBUTION looks
like. Miley also had his security detail dropped and Iran still wants to see
him dead. That is wrong.
Mayan Culture of Mexico and beyond…
They knew how to use
rubber latex.
Speaking of rubber balls,
the Mayan people were one of the first cultures to use rubber, which they
created using natural latex. Experts believe that the Mayans created different
qualities of rubber by mixing the latex with other natural substances.
This is how they were
able to produce the bouncy balls that they used in their deadly games.
Random Thoughts…

Origin of city nicknames…
Louisville, Kentucky: ‘Derby
City’
Although Louisville has had a
number of nicknames over the years, Derby City is the one that has stuck, and
for fairly obvious reasons. Back in 1875, the first Kentucky Derby was held
here. It didn’t take long for it to become the most celebrated horse race in
the US, and one of the most famous throughout the world. The city is now
synonymous with the event which is held annually at the Churchill Downs
Racetrack (pictured) on the first Saturday in May.
