My
Rambling Thoughts
Wind
slowed down, nice day. Nice walk around the block. Didn't see another
human. Nice.
Two
groups having problems with on-line learning: Special Education
students, students in various science labs. I'm sure innovation will
soon step in to assist.
Then
there is grading, promotion, and graduation. Give the grade at the
time of the shutdown? Base grade on entire grading period? What about
mandatory state testing? What about the ACT for seniors? What about
students without internet access? Is the student doing the on-line
assignments or is someone else helping and/or doing it for them? Lots
of questions that need answering very quickly. And will the Feds step
up and make nationwide rules or will each school, district, or state
decide what to do? Sure glad I'm retired and don't have to deal with all this.
The
best thing right now, is not to panic. For those who in the stock
market, this is good advice. I've been seeing stories telling
investors to drop cruise line stock, oil digging/fracking stock,
airline stock, and many more. I'm not invested that much in the stock
market...only thru a couple of long-term IRA-type investments, but
selling the stock does not seem like a good idea. I'll let those who
know more, make the decision for me.
H&R
is awesome. My tax guy called, let me know that I was getting a nice
chunk of change from the Feds, and a decent chunk from the state. And
I can review it and pay for it on line so they will electronically
send it for me. I can pick up my copies later. Very cool.
