Rambling Thoughts
Getting ready for our discussion group tonight….Sectarianism.
Should be an interesting discussion. Many Americans look at the Middle East
issues with Muslims to be sectarian, when the authors argue that is only a
small part of the issues. While many use the sectarian riffs, it is really much
more about politics and power.
Our monsoon was supposed to fall back for a few days, but we were
hit with a pretty loud thunderstorm this afternoon bringing lots of rain. Nice.

The Mountaineer Square Dance Society is hosting a gala square
dance Saturday night. The Warmup begins at 8 p.m. in the Flagstaff Jr. High
School Gym. There’s to be a barbecue lunch and fashion show at Weitzel
School on Saturday then the climax at the Flag High School Gym Saturday night
with the well-known Chuck Daley of Lakewood, California, calling.
The city produced over 1 billion gallons of water during 1964 from
various sources and used nearly all of it. 20,007 feet of new water line were
laid, 189 water taps were added and 275 new sewer taps were added. Robert
Steele, speaking for City Water.
The city council voted to provide the Chamber of Commerce with
$250 for an aide to tend the Colton Park west of their building.

Mo. - A diner filed a lawsuit Monday against a Missouri restaurant
famous for its "throwed rolls" after a piece of bread hit her and
caused an injury. Troy Tucker sued Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, Mo., after she
said she was hit by a roll and "sustained a lacerated cornea with a
vitreous detachment and all head, neck, eyes and vision were severely
damaged" in September 2014, WDAF-TV, St. Louis, Mo., reported. She is
seeking $25,000 to pay for her medical bills and legal fees. The lawsuit said
Lambert's Cafe should know about the dangers caused by throwing rolls. Jerry
Johnson, the general manager of the restaurant, told KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau,
Mo., the employees never mean to injure anyone when they throw rolls. He said
people have tried to sue the restaurant in the past, and in some cases, the
company's insurance has paid the cost of medical bills. It's unclear if Tucker
has a case for her allegations of "carelessness and negligence"
against Lambert's Cafe. There are multiple signs inside and and outside the
restaurant calling it "Home of Throwed Rolls."
