Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity
opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most
people are even incapable of forming such opinions.

Pteronophobia
is the fear of being tickled by feathers.
It’s
also a fear of feathers themselves. The word “ptero” is the Greek word for
feather, and “phobia” is also Greek, meaning fear.
Snakes
can help predict earthquakes.
They
can sense a coming earthquake from 75 miles away (121 km), up to five days
before it happens.

My
Rambling Thoughts
Busy
day yesterday. My former boss and friend needed to move a 1950 Jeep Pickup from
Tuba to Flag. It was parked in a garage at the Boarding School in Tuba. Someone
broke into the next garage and punched out the wall to where the jeep was.
Luckily the classic Jeep was not damaged. Andy and I took a trailer up to Tuba,
loaded up the Jeep and brought it back to Flag. The hardest part was figuring
out the four gear shift knobs, all unmarked, to get into any gear. I had driven
a jeep with three knobs, but had no idea what to do with the four. Andy finally
called his brother-in-law in Indiana to find out how to do it. A good day, and
a very good Breakfast burrito at Cameron.
I
have been a Jeopardy fan since my childhood. The current championship
tournament is worth a watch. I DVR’d the first one and enjoyed it this morning.
A few more over the next few days.
It’s
old-people’s day at the grocery store, so I also headed out to get necessities.
Nice to save 10% on all purchases…including sales items. I got there early
enough that the store was not filled with elderly slowly walking down every
aisle, and stopping to study the labels. I seldom stop to read labels, I know
what I want, and where it is. Save money by not getting caught up with stuff I
don’t really need.
