Rambling Thoughts
I’m getting really tired of the wind here in Flag. Today the gusts
were the strongest we have had all year. Somehow all that wind just drains me
out.
It is sadly fire season…yesterday a fire near Crystal, on the
Navajo Rez started and is now 11,000 acres of mountainous county inhabited by
many Navajo Families. Now I just saw another fire in Oak Creek Canyon caused by
a downed power line. Both areas have high winds and low humidity…so neither is
going to be good.

Pierce: Graduated Bowdoin College (1824). In 1853 the Gadsden Purchase
settled boundary disputes with Mexico. In 1854 the Kansas Nebraska Act
increased the conflict between pro- and anti-slavery settlers and required the

Because of religious considerations Pierce affirmed rather than swore the
Presidential Oath of Office. He gave his inaugural address from memory, without

Really Happened
A Florida man was arrested on a prostitution charge after he
allegedly offered to exchange some green for sex during a reverse prostitution
sting by the Daytona Beach Police Department.
The thing is, the only green that Alonzo Liverman had was a salad
from Applebee's.The 29-year-old wasn't the only one to get busted and the DBPD arrested nine other men, including former Florida State basketball player Tim Pickett.
During an encounter with an undercover female officer, Liverman replied "I got a salad" after she said, "I'm hungry, you got food?"
According to the arrest report, the officer offered to give Liverman a "blow job for a salad." Liverman consented to the deal and asked, "You ready to go?"
Liverman was sentenced to two days in jail and fined $500 after pleading no contest to the misdemeanor charge.

original word was ‘ekename’ back to 1303 meaning ‘additional name deriving from
the Old English phrase eaca “an increase”, related to eacian “to increase”.By the fifteenth century ‘ekename’ had been renamed to ‘nekename’ and later on to ‘nickname’ and although the spelling changed, the meaning and pronunciation remained the same.

Biologists believe that in this labyrinth of knife-edged towers there may be species that humans have never met before.
Steven Goodman, a biologist who has lived and worked in Madagascar for 20 years, describes the region as “a refuge within paradise,” a place where a kind of biology more familiar a century ago can still be practiced and where simply walking around might put you face-to-face with a creature never seen before.
